About the Author

Nie Huihua, a doctor of economics at Renmin University of China and a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University (2009 – 2010), is currently a distinguished professor at the School of Economics and Executive Director of the Center for Enterprise and Organization Research, Renmin University of China (RUC). He was formerly Deputy Chief of the Scientific Research Division and Executive Deputy Dean of the National Academy of Development and Strategy, RUC. Nie’s research interests include government-enterprise relations, enterprise theory, and institutional economics. He has published many papers on international first-class academic journals such as Review of Economics& Statistics and Journal of Development Economics. He has been interviewed for many times by important Chinese and foreign media, such as CCTV, People s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, Phoenix TV, NPR, New York Times, Financial Times and Nikkei. He is also the author of financial bestsellers Learn Entrepreneurship from Journey to the West-a Management Secret Book Everyone Should Read and Everything under Contract: Gaming and Decision-making in the Real World.

Zou Jingxian is currently an associate professor at the National Academy of Development and Strategy, RUC and a doctor of economics at the National School of Development, Peking University. Her main research areas are international economics and development economics. In recent years, she has published many papers on Chinese and English academic journals, including China Economic Review, Economics of Transition, Asian Development Review, Economic Research Journal (in Chinese), Management World (in Chinese), Journal of World Economy (in Chinese), and so on. As a young researcher at the China Finance 40 Forum (CF40) at present, she was a visiting scholar at the Department of Economics of the University of Chicago (2014-2015) and a research fellow at the World Bank (Representative Office in China). She also participated in many research projects of the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the People’s Bank of China the Ministry of Finance, and the Development Research Center of the State Council.
