ZHOU Shengya (born in November 1934, Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province) is a professor at the School of Literature, Renmin University of China. He graduated from the Department of Chinese Language, Jilin University in 1961 and obtained a master’s degree in Chinese history in 1965. His research direction is history of Chinese language.

The history of Chinese language is a new language discipline composed of the history of Chinese phonetics, the history of Chinese grammar and the history of Chinese vocabulary.
