From October 16 to 21, 2025, the delegation from China Renmin University Press attended the 77th Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany and proceeded to France for a series of publishing exchange activities. This visit aimed to expand channels for international publishing cooperation, promote the global dissemination of Chinese academic achievements, and deepen long-term strategic partnerships with European publishing institutions and universities.

During the Frankfurt Book Fair, China Renmin University Press, in collaboration with China International Book Trading Corporation, hosted the “Belt and Road Publishing Cooperative: Copyright Promotion and Signing Ceremony”. Together with other leading Chinese university presses including Shaanxi Normal University General Publishing House, Xi’an Jiaotong University Press, Lanzhou University Press, and East China University of Science and Technology Press, China Renmin University Press highlighted 25 titles from the five university presses for copyright promotion. Multiple English edition license agreements were signed with internationally renowned publishers such as Taylor & Francis Group and Cengage Learning. A copyright signing ceremony was held with Taylor & Francis for three books: Regional Disparities Between Eastern and Central-Western China, Huawei Pricing Method, and Inclusive Market System Building: Formation of Multi-center Hierarchical Market System. With Cengage, an agreement was reached for the English edition of Understanding China Through Chinese Modernization. The delegation also visited the Heidelberg office of Springer Nature, where they held a signing ceremony for the English edition of Handbook of Sanctions and Economic Warfare and engaged in in-depth discussions on collaborative projects.

In France, the delegation visited Paul-Valéry University Montpellier 3, KEDGE Business School’s Paris campus, and the French Publishing Network. At Paul-Valéry University, the two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement. At KEDGE Business School, the delegation visited the Institut franco-chinois de l’Université de Renmin de Chine and presented key publications, including The Harmony of Civilizations and The End of the “Clash of Civilizations” Theory. During their meeting with the French Publishing Network (France Livre), both parties explored potential collaboration in academic publishing and trade books. In addition, the delegation participated in a publishing exchange seminar organized by British and French publishing experts, gaining deeper insights into the French publishing market and digital development trends.
Through this visit, China Renmin University Press strengthened its partnerships with multiple European publishers and academic institutions, laying a solid foundation for enhanced international publishing exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations.
