On the afternoon of 31 October 2024, a delegation from Taylor & Francis Group, LLC visited China Renmin University Press. Li Yongqiang, Chairman of the Board and Chair of the Press Council, and Wang Lei, Vice General Manager of China Renmin University Press, met with Jeremy North, Managing Director, Books, Sunil Nair, Global Editorial Director, Science and Medicine, and Sun Lian, Publisher, Head of International Cooperation and Publishing of Taylor & Francis, and had in-depth exchanges on topics such as the future development of cooperation and event plans.
Mr. Li Yongqiang expressed his warm welcome to the delegation of Taylor & Francis Group, and reviewed the high-frequency exchanges and visits between the two sides in the past year as well as the fruitful results achieved. Mr. Jeremy North introduced their current sales in the English book market, pointed out the growth of China’s share in the market of his publishing group, and expressed his hope that the two sides would further strengthen their cooperation and contact. Afterwards, the two sides discussed and analyzed the impact of artificial intelligence on the publishing industry.
Mr. Li Yongqiang and Mr. Jeremy North jointly unveiled the English versions of three books, which are China’s Professional Employer Association Law: Legal Protection for Labor Relations Coordination, Poetry and Power of Judgment: The Aesthetic Unity of Chinese Classical Poetry, and The “Historicization” of Contemporary Literature. At the same time, license agreements for the English versions of The View of Life and Death of Chinese People and Excavated Texts and Early Political Philosophy were signed at the meeting. Liu Guangyu, Director of the Department of Rights and International Cooperation, Liu Yehua, Director of International Publishing Centre, and Wei Jiayu, Copyright Manager of China Renmin University Press, also attended the meeting.
