On the afternoon of June 19, Beijing time, the Launch Ceremony for the First Batch of Results of China-Kyrgyzstan Classics Translation and Publication Project is successfully held at the booth of China Renmin University Press at the BIBF.

 

 

Kyrgyzstani Guests attending the event include Ms. Kamila Choroeva from the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the People’s Republic of China, and Ms. Aimira Torgoeva, Editor-in-Chief Editor of Renwen Publishing House, Kyrgyzstan. Hao Zhensheng, Chairman of the Chinese Special Committee of China-Kyrgyzstan Classics Translation and Publication Project and President of the Chinese Society of Editors, Wang Yi, Vice President of Renmin University of China, Qian Fengqiang, Director of the Exchange Division of the Import and Export Administration Bureaucracy, Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, Liu Mingyang, Secretary of the Asian Classics Mutual Translation Project, Li Yongqiang, Chair of the Pres Council and Chairman of the Board of China Renmin University Press, Lin Jiangyan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, General Manager and Vice Chairman of the Board of Central China Media, Zheng Xiong, Editor-in-Chief of Henan Literature and Arts Publishing House, Huang Yongjun, General Manager of Jiangsu Qiuzhenyilin Publishing House, Li Kailong, General Manager, Guo Xiaoming, Vice General Manager, and Wang Lei, Vice General Manager of China Renmin University Press, were present at the event. The ceremony was hosted by Vice General Manager Mr. Wang Lei.

The first batch of results of China-Kyrgyzstan Classics Translation and Publication Project include the Kyrgyz version of Historical Materialism and Contemporary China and the Chinese version of The Sufferings of the Young Bairdi. The release of the results is a fruitful outcome of cultural exchanges between China and Kyrgyzstan, and a concrete implementation of the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s speech at the Conference of Dialogue on Asian Civilizations and the spirit of the China-Central Asia Summit, which demonstrates the new atmosphere of cultural exchanges in the context of mutual understanding between Chinese and Kyrgyz civilizations, and highlights the spirit of equality, interaction and sharing. The release of the results is also a new starting point for the mutual understanding of civilizations and cultural exchanges between China and Kyrgyzstan, and the publication and exchange of excellent works between the two countries can not only enhance the friendship and understanding between the two peoples, but also help to promote the common development and prosperity of the cultures of the two countries. The guests expressed the hope that with the release of the results as an opportunity, the publishing circles of the two countries can further form a new mechanism of cooperation, build a new ecology of mutual translation and publication, and jointly promote cultural exchanges and people-to-people communication.
