On the afternoon of November 1, 2023, the Taylor & Francis Publishing Group delegation visited China Renmin University Press (CRUP), where the two sides had an in-depth and detailed discussion on convergent publishing, how new technologies such as AI and big data can help the development of the publishing industry, and new modes of cooperation between the two sides, and held a signing ceremony for the English version of Yu Kingdom along the Silk Road and A History of Song-Xia Relations. Attending the meeting were Li Yongqiang, Chair of Press Council and Chairman of the Board of CRUP, Jeremy North, Managing Director, Taylor & Francis Books, Wang Lei, Deputy General Manager of CRUP, Sunil Nair, Science and Technology Editorial Director, Taylor & Francis Books and Sun Lian, Publisher, Taylor & Francis Books, and Chen Jian, General Manager of Digital Publishing Center, Li Wenzhong, Director of the Publishing Division of Science and Engineering, Liu Guangyu, Director of the Department of Rights and International Cooperation, Liu Yehua, Director of the International Publishing Center and Gao Ya, Copyright Manager of CRUP.

Li Yongqiang briefly introduced the main business of the Digital Publishing Center and the Publishing Division of Science and Engineering of China Renmin University Press , and expressed his willingness to further expand the cooperation field with T&F Publishing Group, from the original philosophy and social sciences books to the whole range of disciplines including science and technology books, and expand the form of cooperation from traditional publishing to convergent publishing.

 

Jeremy North expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of China Renmin University Press, praised the first-class and professional team of CRUP for providing a strong guarantee for the fruitful cooperation between the two sides, and shared some new trends and changes in global academic publishing as well as the specific initiatives taken by T&F Publishing Group in response to these changes.

Participants from both sides also exchanged views on related topics. At the end of the meeting, Li Yongqiang and Jeremy North signed the license agreement of the English version of The Mystery of Yu Kingdom and A History of Song-Xia Relations.
