From December 4 to 12, 2024, the CRUP delegation visited Romania, Bulgaria and Poland and organized a number of activities on publishing and cultural exchanges, receiving wide attention from the publishing and cultural circles of the three countries.

 

In Romania, the delegation visited the Romanian Cultural Institute and was received by President Jicman and five of his colleagues. Li Kailong, the General Manager of CRUP, and President Jicman held talks on cultural and publishing exchanges between the two sides on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of China – Romania diplomatic relations. They also discussed ways to further deepen mutual understanding, enhance friendship, and explore more cooperation opportunities.

 

On the 5th, the Library of the Romanian Academy and the European Idea Cultural Foundation jointly held an academic conference on the theme of “Două culturi – două civilizații. 75 de ani de relații diplomatice sino-romane”. The guests of honor included Ioan – Aurel Pop, the President of the Romanian Academy, Han Chunlin,the Chinese Ambassador to Romania, Xu Ningbo, the Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Bucharest, and over a hundred students from the Eugen Lovinescu in Bucharest. During the event, a book launching ceremony was held for the book De la Romani la Romani: Pledoarie pentru Latinitate, written by Dean Ioan – Aurel Pop and published by CRUP.

 

The delegation then visited Corint Books. There, they had a conversation with Luiza, the General Manager of Corint, and Roxana, the Executive Director of Corint, and signed copyright transfer agreements for Values Selection in Chinese Modernization and four other books.

 

On the 7th, the book launch of the Bulgarian edition of Contemporary Chinese Society: Basic Systems and Daily Life was held by CRUP and the Bulgarian Bestseller Publishing House at the Chinese Cultural Center in Sofia. Nearly one hundred guests attended the launch, including Dai Qingli, the Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria, Guan Xin, the Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria, Tsocho Ganev, the Vice President of the National Assembly, Ognyan Gerdzhikov, the Former Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Alexander Yordanov, the Member of the European Parliament, Kiril Topalov, the Director of the National Library of the University of Sofia, and Mehti Melikov, the Head of the Department of Copyright of the Ministry of Culture. Xinhua News reported the event at the first opportunity. Meanwhile, the Bulgarian Embassy in China sent a congratulatory letter.

 

General Manager Li Kailong signed copyright transfer agreements with Juliana, the President of Bulgarian Bestseller Publishing House, for Values Selection in Chinese Modernization and four other books.

 

On the 9th, the delegation visited the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies of the University of Warsaw in Poland and was received by Dr. Daniel Przastek, the Dean. Dean Daniel and General Manager Li Kailong discussed the wide range of commonalities and cooperation opportunities between the University of Warsaw and CRUP in the fields of political science and international relations. They hoped that the two sides could further strengthen publishing exchanges and cooperation to jointly promote the in-depth development of Sino – Polish academic research.

 

On the 10th, the delegation visited Marszalek Publishing House. The two sides signed copyright transfer agreements for five books, including Chinese Modernization with a Huge Population. On the 11th, the two publishers held a book launch ceremony for the Polish editions of People-Oriented Philosophy and Universities in the Flames of War at the library of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. The conference was attended by Andrzej Tretyn, the President of Nicolaus Copernicus University, Adam Marszalek, the President of Marszawek Publishing House, Krzysztof Nierzwicki, the Director of the library of the University, Dr. Maciej, the Director of the Center for Chinese Language and Culture of the University, and some students of the University. After the launch, the delegation donated books to the library.

 

The CRUP delegation was led by General Manager Li Kailong and accompanied by Liu Guangyu, the Director of the Department of Rights and International Cooperation; Zhai Jianghong, the Editor-in-Chief of the Humanities Publishing Division; Li Lihong, the Deputy Director of the Vocational Education Publishing Division; Wang Zewu, the Product Manager of the Sales Department; and Zhang Qin, the Rights Manager of the International Publishing Center.
