Five months later in March 2018, the Thought was enshrined in the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China by China’s national legislature, the National People’s Congress. According to Chinese media, the Xi Jinping Thought epitomizes the CPC’s latest achievements in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and encapsulates the practical experience and collective wisdom of the Party and the people. As a leading ideology, it will guide China’s pursuit of peace and development for at least the next decade, and will undoubtedly have an impact on the whole world given China’scurrent status as an economic power. Studies on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Eraconsists of 10 books written by prominent scholars from Renmin University of China. In these books, the authors offer their interpretations of and insights on various aspects of the Thought, including its origin and signiffcance, as well as its manifestations in Party building, economic development and reform, ecological civilization, education, diplomacy, state governance, rural revival, and poverty alleviation.

As early as the Yan’an Rectiffcation Movement in the early 1940s, the CPC gradually formed its systematic theory of Party building that covers the Party’s theoretical development, organization, and conduct. Building on the experience of the previous four generations of CPC central leadership, the Central Committee led by Xi Jinping has made major innovations in terms of the theory and practice of Party building, aiming to propel the development of the Party to a new stage characterized by full and strict governance over the Party. This book examines how Xi Jinping has deepened the Party’s understanding of the principles, requirements, and approaches of Party building in the new era. It analyzes his expositions and policies on the tasks of Party building strengthening the Party’s political, ideological, institutional, and organizational development, ffghting corruption, maintaining its advanced nature and integrity, and enhancing its long-term governing capacity. The book also explores how these tasks are key to the Party’s effort to lead the nation in overcoming the new challenges, advancing Chinese socialism, and striving for national rejuvenation.

Date of Pub: 2020-09 ISBN: 978-981-4915-07-6 Author: Yang Fengcheng and Zhao Shumei About the Author YANG Fengcheng holds a PhD in Law and is currently a professor, doctoral supervisor, and head of Department of Chinese Communist Party History of the School of Marxism Studies at Renmin University of China (RUC), where he also serves as […]

[6

post-874","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-book-releases
