<\/p>\nOn March 11, 2026, Li Yongqiang, Party Secretary and Chairman\u00a0of the Board\u00a0of China Renmin University Press (CRUP), met with a visiting delegation led by Professor Aldin Mutembei, Director of the Institute of Kiswahili Studies and Nyerere Chair Professor at the University of Dar es Salaam. Also attending the meeting were Professor Ao Manyun of the Communication University of China and Liu Yehua, Director of the International Publishing Center of CRUP.<\/p>\n
Li Yongqiang extended a warm welcome to Professor Mutembei and his delegation, and recalled his meeting and exchanges with Professor Mutembei during his visit to Tanzania in 2025. He noted that 2026 is\u00a0the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, and that cooperation between China and African countries in the fields of culture and education is becoming increasingly close. As an important vehicle for cultural communication, book publishing can effectively disseminate the development experience and outstanding traditional cultures of both China and Tanzania.<\/p>\n
Professor Mutembei expressed his gratitude for Li Yongqiang\u2019s warm reception. He pointed out that Kiswahili is one of the most important languages in Africa and has broad influence in Tanzania and other East African countries. As one of Tanzania\u2019s leading institutions of higher learning, the University of Dar es Salaam attaches great importance to its cooperation with CRUP, and looks forward to using book publishing as an opportunity to achieve more fruitful outcomes in academic research and cultural communication.<\/p>\n

In the subsequent exchanges, the two sides held in-depth discussions on such matters as book content, editorial structure, printing, and publishing. They engaged in thorough exchanges on every stage of the process, from selecting content that accurately reflects the theme of China-Tanzania cultural exchanges, to designing a well-structured and reader-friendly editorial framework, and to ensuring high-quality printing and publishing standards. Important consensus was reached at the meeting, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation in the field of book publishing and enabling both sides to use books as a medium to promote China-Tanzania cultural exchanges\u00a0to deeper and broader levels.<\/p>\n
