On November 30, 2025, the launch ceremony of the \u201cUnderstanding Chinese Modernization\u201d book series was successfully held at the 2025 Understanding China Conference (Guangzhou). Two titles published by China Renmin University Press\u00a0(CRUP)\u2014Understanding Chinese Modernization<\/i><\/em>: The Key to<\/i><\/em>\u00a0Understanding China<\/i><\/em>\u00a0and Chinese Modernization and Chinese Civilization<\/i><\/em>\u2014were officially released at the event.<\/p>\n

Huang Qifan, Executive Vice Chairman of the Academic Committee of China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy (CIIDS) and former Mayor of Chongqing, Li Junru, former Vice President of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee,Wang Boyong, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CIIDS, Lv Benfu, Vice Chairman of CIIDS,\u00a0Liu Xinghua, Distinguished Vice Chairman of CIIDS, Director of China Economy Professional Committee, and Distinguished Professor at Tongji University, Lu Xiaohua, Executive Editor-in-Chief of CIIDS\u2019s journal \u201cNational Innovation and Development Strategy\u201d and Dean of the School of New Media and Communication,\u00a0Tianjin University, Li Jinbo, Deputy Director of the Regional and Industrial Economy\u00a0Research Department of China Center for International Economic Exchanges, and Li Yongqiang, Chair of the Press Council\u00a0and Chairman of the Board of CRUP, jointly unveiled the new books.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Feng Wei noted that the \u201cUnderstanding Chinese\u00a0Modernization\u201d\u00a0series, co-developed\u00a0by CIIDS\u00a0and CRUP, is a high-quality collection focused\u00a0on the theory and practice of Chinese modernization, as well as\u00a0an important part of the \u201cUnderstanding China\u201d brand.<\/p>\n

Li Yongqiang pointed out in his address that Understanding Chinese Modernization<\/i><\/em>: The Key to<\/i><\/em>\u00a0Understanding China<\/i><\/em>\u00a0and Chinese Modernization and Chinese Civilization<\/i><\/em>\u00a0are the first two masterpieces of the \u201cUnderstanding Chinese Modernization\u201d\u00a0series. Compiled under the leadership of Zheng Bijian, the renowned Marxist theorist and educator, Understanding Chinese Modernization<\/i><\/em>: The Key to<\/i><\/em>\u00a0Understanding China<\/i><\/em>\u00a0comprehensively sorts out and analyzes the difficulties and priorities in further deepening\u00a0reform\u00a0in an all-round way. Written by Li Junru, former Vice President of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, Chinese Modernization and Chinese Civilization<\/i><\/em>\u00a0is a theoretical work exploring how excellent traditional Chinese culture can be inherited in development and integrated with modernization.<\/p>\n

Subsequent titles in the \u201cUnderstanding Chinese Modernization\u201d series include major works such as Embracing Ecological Civilization: The <\/i><\/em>Only Option for<\/i><\/em>\u00a0Chinese Modernization<\/i><\/em>, Chinese Modernization: Strategy and <\/i><\/em>Route<\/i><\/em>, The Communist Party of China and Chinese Modernization<\/i><\/em>, New <\/i><\/em>Driving Forces of<\/i><\/em>\u00a0China\u2019s Economic Development<\/i><\/em>, and Comprehensively Improving the Effectiveness of Understanding China: System Construction and Discourse Innovation<\/i><\/em>. As the\u00a0first university press\u00a0founded in\u00a0New China\u00a0and a pacesetter in the\u00a0\u201cgoing global\u201d initiative\u00a0of China\u2019s publishing, China Renmin University Press will publish more high-quality books that tell China\u2019s\u00a0stories and disseminate Chinese wisdom. It will also actively promote the publication of multilingual versions of the series, presenting a vivid picture of Chinese modernization to global readers and contributing valuable Chinese wisdom and solutions to advancing the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.<\/p>\n
