On the afternoon of June 19, the 2025 Belt & Road Publishing Cooperative Forum and Symposium on High-Quality Development of International Publishing Collaboration\u00a0was\u00a0successfully held at Renmin University of China (Tongzhou Campus). The event was jointly organized by China Renmin University Press\u00a0(CRUP), the Belt & Road\u00a0Publishing Cooperative (BRPC), and the Center for the Global Promotion of Chinese Culture. Over a hundred experts from academia and publishing, as well as representatives from member institutions of the Cooperative\u00a0from more than 20 countries and regions worldwide attended the forum.<\/p>\n

Distinguished guests included Fan Qinghua, Deputy Division Chief (Level-II Investigator), Cooperation and Exchange Division, Import & Export Bureau, Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee; Hao Zhensheng, Chairman of the Chinese Society of Editors\u00a0and Chairman of the Chinese Committee for China-Kyrgyzstan Classic Translation Project; Li Yongqiang, Chair of the Press Council and Chairman of the Board\u00a0of\u00a0CRUP and Chairman of the BRPC; Wan Anlun, Head of the National Publishing Discipline Development Expert Group and Professor at Beijing Normal University; Adil Jumaturdu, Researcher at the Institute of Ethnic Literature, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Zhu Shengying, Chair of the Press Council and Chairman of the Board, Beijing Normal University Publishing Group; Ji Chuanbo, Editor-in-Chief of Peking University Press; Jeremy North, Managing Director, Books, Taylor & Francis; Adam Marszalek, President of the Marszalek Publishing Group; Abdyldajan Akmataliev, Director of the Chyngyz Aitmatov Institute of Language and Literature under the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic and Chairman of the Kyrgyz Committee for China-Kyrgyzstan Classic Translation Project; Liviu Taranu, Director of Romanian Cultural Center; Deniz Kizilcec, Editor in Chief, Caunt Publishing International; Iskanda, Editor-in-Chief, Silk Road Publishing House; and Juan Merlo Sotillo, Professor of Architecture, Universidad Central de Venezuela. Scholars and publishers from over 20 countries, including the UAE, Albania, Canada, Lebanon, Nepal, Japan, Sri Lanka, Slovenia, Thailand, Ukraine, India, and Chile, also participated. Li Kailong, General Manager of CRUP, and Wang Lei, Deputy General Manager, hosted the event in turn.<\/p>\n

In the first session of the Forum, Li Yongqiang released the Achievements Report of the BRPC, reviewing the achievements made since the\u00a0establishment\u00a0of the BRPC,\u00a0and outlining future prospects for deepening international collaboration. The second session featured the Achievements Release of the China-Kyrgyzstan Classic Translation Project\u00a0and the Signing Ceremony of the Multilingual Editions of “Understanding China’s Modernization” Series.<\/p>\n

Hao Zhenxing and Abdyldajan Akmataliev\u00a0delivered speeches on behalf of the Chinese and Kyrgyz committees of the translation project respectively.<\/p>\n

Hao Zhenxing stated that the\u00a0China-Kyrgyzstan Classic Translation Project\u00a0demonstrates the cultural confidence\u00a0of Asia, builds bridges for mutual learning among civilizations through high-quality translations, and expands its influence through digital dissemination.<\/p>\n

The guests witnessed the achievements release of the China-Kyrgyzstan Classic Translation Project. The books launched include translated editions of Marching Toward Rule of Law<\/i><\/em>, Economic Growth and Industrial Structure Evolution<\/i><\/em>\uff0cChina<\/i><\/em>\u2019<\/i><\/em>s Experience on Democracy<\/i><\/em>, The Art of War by Sun Tzu<\/i><\/em>\uff0cThe Gourmet<\/i><\/em>\uff0cThe Straw House<\/i><\/em>, To Live<\/i><\/em>, The Humanistic Luminary of Kyrgyzstan<\/i><\/em>, and The White Paper Boat<\/i><\/em>.<\/p>\n

It was followed by the signing ceremony of the multilingual editions of “Understanding China\u2019s Modernization” Series. CRUP\u00a0signed agreements with Caunt Publishing International\u00a0of Turkey, the Marszalek Publishing Group\u00a0of Poland, Centro Venezolano de Estudios sobre China, and Digital Future of Arabia\u00a0for the publishing of\u00a0the series in Turkish, Polish, Spanish, and Arabic, which is a boost to the global dissemination of China\u2019s modernization concepts.<\/p>\n

The third session featured a panel discussion on “high-quality development of international publishing collaboration,” with insights shared by seven representatives of the global publishing industry, including Jeremy North, Zhu Shengying, Adam Marszalek,\u00a0Iskanda, Liviu Taranu, Ji Chuanbo, and Juan Merlo Sotillo.<\/p>\n

Concluding the event was an awarding ceremony. Institutions that have made significant contributions to Sino-foreign publishing exchanges\u00a0received the awards of “Outstanding Partner\u00a0of International Cooperation” and “Excellence Partner\u00a0of International Cooperation” from CRUP.<\/p>\n

The Forum not only showcased the latest achievements of the BRPC,\u00a0but also charted a course for high-quality development of the international publishing\u00a0industry\u00a0in the future, injecting new momentum into cultural exchange and mutual learning and the building of a global community of shared future\u00a0for mankind.<\/p>\n
